Welcome to Maison Jacques, beautifully situated in the middle of the Pays des collines, with cows as your closest neighbor for a large part of the year! Maison Jacques is a cozy authentic farmhouse, thoughtfully converted into a sustainable and comfortable holiday home in collaboration with de Murmuur architects in 2019. There is also a large garden with beautiful views, followed by a large barn that serves as a multifunctional space. Cycling and walking junctions cross the domain.
And yes: "Jacques" does exist: the old scarecrow who has watched over the garden and the orchard for many years. He likes to be photographed with his guests!
Pays des Collines is a protected but mostly undiscovered landscape area that includes five villages and is very attractive for walkers and cyclists because of its beautiful hilly Instagram-worthy landscapes, tasty regional products and imaginative folklore. Nice towns such as Ath and Tournai are nearby.
Starting point for cycling and walking tours
From the house you have endless possibilities for short and long bike rides and walks. There are plenty of cycling routes and walking maps available in the house for our guests.
Close by and yet so different
Maison Jacques is barely an hour (traffic jam-free) drive from Ghent or Brussels, but you are certainly guaranteed an instant holiday feeling.
The house has been thoroughly renovated and equipped with all modern comforts. The interior has - with taste and patience - become a mix of retro and design with an eye for detail and natural materials that emphasize the holiday atmosphere once again.
Suitable for 8 people, ideal for families with children, couples or small groups who want to "get out". Or teleworkers seeking a green spot for a workation.
A spacious studio has been created in the attic that can also serve as an extra play area for the children or as a 'cozy' reading and / or television place for someone who likes to relax.
